When to take your supplements (and the mistake most people make)
You've picked your supplements. But when you take them can change how much your body actually absorbs. The same capsule can do more, or less, depending on what you take it with and when.
The mistake we see most
Taking vitamin D, fish oil or CoQ10 first thing in the morning with a black coffee.
These are fat-soluble: they need some fat in your stomach to absorb properly. On an empty stomach, you may absorb noticeably less of what you're paying for.
The fix is simple: take them with a meal that has some fat in it, like eggs, fish, or anything cooked in oil. Your biggest meal of the day is usually the best choice.
Two more things most people don't know
- Some supplements block each other. One very common pair should never be taken together, and plenty of people take both with breakfast.
- Some supplements and medicines need space between them. If you take anything regularly, the gap matters.
And there's one habit that matters more than getting any of the timing perfect.
